Celebrating in the Time of COVID-19

The global pandemic has put a halt to many social events and gatherings — weddings, birthday celebrations, and graduation ceremonies were cancelled to help flatten the curve. But life goes on as people get creative in finding different ways to celebrate milestones in the new norm.

We’ve seen drive-by parades and themed virtual celebrations happen as a means to celebrate birthdays from afar. Some couples have opted for a live-streamed of their intimate wedding. And the graduating class of 2020 can still celebrate their achievements with a pre-recording of the traditional graduation flow of an academic procession, welcome address, awarding of diplomas, awards, speeches and more.

Despite the limitations to physical interactions that COVID-19 has presented us, technological advancements have given us endless possibilities to create a safe yet memorable celebration amid the pandemic.
