We started as a humble team of 5 functioning as an internal communications unit within a managing consulting firm, PEMANDU Associates. But we had a wild idea — why not spin off as a separate entity and apply the consulting methodology to help marketeers build their brands.
On 1st April 2018, COMMUNICATE was born. And with that, a true north to grow into an innovative and results oriented creative + consulting agency hybrid. Growth happened at lightning speed as we grew to a team of 13 in just a year and half. So with that, we knew we’d eventually want to leave the nest of our head office and build a new home – one that we can call our own.
Our MD, Alex Iskandar Liew, had a vision for what this home should look like – an industrial interior aesthetic to strike that often elusive balance of hipster café charm and factory-like rigour (because, let’s be honest – growth takes work!). If that was a bit of a mouthful, Alex calls it “aesthetically functional”.
But the big question was: who would make this happen? Seemun Pon, our Associate VP as well as Jerome Jambu, our Creative Director took on the mantle build this new office.
After almost half a year of intense planning, lots of angry phone calls, too much paperwork and many sleepless nights, we finally moved into our new place on the first official working day of 2020.
